Autumn Term- What are we learning?

This term we will be focusing on the topic ‘Bomber County’, which encompasses the role of Lincolnshire during WW2. Additionally, we will be focusing on the class text, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, which will inspire our writing and love of reading. We will explore poetic devices to create powerful poetry, use emotive vocabulary to create diary entries and write informative explanation texts.
In Maths, we will work hard to consolidate our recall of multiplication and division facts and secure our understanding of number. We will apply our understanding to solve problems from a range of contexts and strengthen are skill of reasoning.
This term, we will also take part in an amazing residential trip to PGL to focus on teambuilding, communication skills and practising resilience.

Throughout the term, we will be reading: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne and Clockwork by Phillip Pullman.

Reading at home
All pupils have a reading folder, containing a reading book and a reading record.
If possible, we would like all children to read at home, at least 3 times per week.
Reading Records
These should be used by parents and pupils to capture the individual child’s reading journey. When you hear your child read, please record this in the reading record.
