In a letter sent to school leaders, Bridget Phillipson MP, Secretary of State for Education, congratulated staff and pupils for their achievements at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. The letter confirmed the school’s performance places it among the very best nationally for outcomes achieved by disadvantaged pupils.
Alongside this recognition, Waddington All Saints Academy has also been appointed as a Lead School within the Department for Education’s Reception Networks programme, a national initiative aimed at strengthening the quality of Reception year provision and supporting the government’s ambition for 75% of children to reach a Good Level of Development by 2028.
Following a competitive national assessment process, the school was selected in recognition of the strength of its early years practice and the expertise of its Reception team.
As part of this role, Waddington All Saints Academy will act as a regional leader for Reception year improvement. The school will share resources and expertise with other schools, host regular network meetings and open days, and work with partners including Stronger Practice Hubs and Best Start Family Hubs to support joined up early years provision.
“It is wonderful to see the hard work of our pupils and staff recognised in this way. We are passionate about giving children the strongest possible start to their education, and we are proud that the work taking place in our early years provision will now support other schools too.”
“This recognition reflects the dedication of the team at Waddington All Saints Academy and their focus on ensuring every pupil is supported to succeed. Their expertise in early years practice will now benefit schools across the wider network, and we are incredibly proud of the role they will play.”
