We place great value on a positive and constructive relationship with all parents. To this end we encourage parents to visit school, help in the classrooms and become involved in their child’s education in a variety of ways.
During the school year, there are many opportunities to visit school and see children’s progress. All class teachers hold regular parent/teacher interviews each term when they are available to discuss your child’s progress or any queries you may have. You will be supplied with appointment slips to arrange the time and date of such interviews at the start of each term. However we would like to stress that in the event of your wishing to see your child’s teacher urgently or at short notice, please contact the member of staff by phone or letter and they will make every effort to see you as soon as possible.
In the summer term parents are sent a written report on their child’s achievement and progress in all areas of the curriculum with a further opportunity given to discuss the contents of the report with their child’s teacher before the end of the Summer Term.
This report will contain a detailed teacher assessment of learning within all National Curriculum subjects, R.E and other areas of school life.
Parents In School
We actively encourage parents to come into school to support the children’s learning. We feel that this support has helped to enhance the quality of provision that we offer to all pupils and is greatly appreciated by all teaching staff as well as the children.
Parents of children who are new to the school and who are able to offer help and support at any time, should initially see their child’s class teacher. Helpers within school do require relevant clearance, however this is easy to complete and details are available from the school office.
‘High Flyers’ assembly on a Friday is open to parents to share in our celebration of pupil success.
At All Saints we recognise the vital role that parents provide in supporting their child’s academic progress. As a result children are encouraged to bring home reading books, learn spellings, tables and carry out investigative tasks. It is advised that all children spend about 15 to 25 minutes a night doing these on-
During the latter part of their KS2 career there is an expectation that children will put in more time in home study to prepare them for transfer to secondary school and aid their primary school learning. Homework expectations for each year group will be set out at the start of a new academic year.
The school boasts strong links within the local community, both within the village and RAF Waddington. This includes the children visiting the local church to celebrate festivals and as part of the curriculum. Our choir regularly sings at the local nursing homes, we have visited the village library, and the RAF station as well as with local schools. The school often hosts visitors from the RAF, who come in to work along side the children, in a variety of activities. The RAF also fund activities for our children – such as the Young Enterprise scheme.

The school is lucky enough to benefit from an active PTA, whose aim is to support the school both financially and practically. They arrange events such as the Christmas and Summer Fairs, as well as family discos, treasure hunts and non-

As a school we have successfully supported a range of charities. We feel this is crucial to every child’s development as it raises the children’s awareness of the wider community, social issues and their responsibilities as ‘good citizens’.
